The Russian Massage Parlor has become common on the East Coast, although I am not sure howmany RMPs there are elsewhere. Usually the RMP is owned by a woman, who is funded and supported by one or more businessmen. In my experience the woman is trained in holistic medicine, al;ternative therapies, or wellness andis used to running a European-style spa. many time the RMP will appear in what used to be a rehabilitation or wellness spa, although more recently I have seen alot of RMPs in "converted" apartments.
More than other types of massage parlors, I have found the RMPs to be very aggressive and intent on getting as many customers as possible as quickly as possible. They often sacrifice cleanliness and order for volume, and often operate our of temporary locations such as unrented apartments getting ready for remodeling, or empty rental psace used as a tax write-off.
The Russian women I have met running RMPs believe that Amercan male customers desire tall, large-framed busty fair-skinned eastern european ladies. I guess that is the fashion model mentality. In my personal life I have met mostly average height and build Russina women. In the RMPs I always find tall blondes.
I have noticed that, like Chinese massage parlors, the Russian massage parlors employ immigrants who are beholden to the owners in some way. They ride to work together, stay at the place of business most of the time, do not enjoy much if any personal freedom, and usually have some connection to the owner associated with their immigration (perhaps sponsored, or otherwise granted papers). In this way, the Russian massage parlor is like the Chinese massage parlor, or the Korean syndicated massage parlor.
Compared to the Korean massage parlor, where the operator is usually the owner, the lease is usually legitimate and 5 years or more, and the working massage ladies follow strict rules and treat it like a normal job. The RMP ladies, like their owners, are in it for the quick money. When the owner is away it's chaos, with everyone doing what they can to get the customers in and out, make as much as possible, don't waste any time cleaning, and cheat the house as often as possible. Of course, with the ermegence of the syndicated korean massage parlors (where the ladies are managed by the owner of a cooperative of Korean owners and operators, some of this is changing.
