I once visited for a brief time in Toronto, a beautiful Canadian city. In Toronto, there are many Asian massage parlors. In fact, there are many massage parlos of all kinds, and the classifieds are filled with advertisements for adult services.
One of the more interesting differences between Toronto and the US cities where I usually travel on business is the use of the terminology in advertisements. They say that the sex trade is legal in Canada, but actually it is just highly regulated. They don't try and legislate what one person can sell to another, but they regulate how that trade can be conducted. Profiting from the trade is illegal, but apparently actually trading your own activities for money is not illegal (?)
Anyway, in Toronto you will see provider advertisements in newspapers with big, bold letters "Open Minded". What does it mean? Well, I was new to Toronto and new to the massage parlor hobby, so I just called up one of the numbers and asked. I was frankly told it means that the back door is open for those who prefer to enter that way.. by back door I am referring to the anatomical back door, often known as the "back nine" by golf-playing hobbyists. I was told with an attitude that I must have been an idiot for having to ask. I called another number, and was told yes, it specifically means the lady allows rear-entry when desired by the client.
Okay, so that is clever. If you seek those services, the are apparently easy to find. In fact, if this is true, then the back door is an extremely popular avenue for Toronto! A Toronto tourism site says "Toronto is commonly known as an open minded city...". How interesting. There's a rehabilitation center that considers itself "open-minded" with respect to the kinds of therapies it offers(!). And there are many, many personals proclaiming open-mindedness. I guess one must keep an "open mind" when seeking open-minded service providers in Toronto!
So all fun aside,it looks like open-minded is simply that - open to new ideas, and in the specific world of massage parlors advertising services in the newspapers, open-minded hints that additional services (such as back door entrances) are available for the asking.
