Massage Envy Arrests for Rape, Sexual Assault,

According to a report on ABC news a massage therapist at a Massage Envy was arrested and charged with rape, among other things. Scary stuff. See the report.

Massage Envy isn't having much luck in the news it seems. Here we have another report, but this time a Massage Envy massage therapist is described as having pulled down a client's underwear and done "oral copulation" whatever that is. Wow...

on Dec. 5, a client told Foster City police he placed his hands over and inside her underwear before pulling them down and performing oral copulation

A commenter on this Massage Envy discussion says Massage Envy hiring practices are the problem:

the reason they offer such a low cost service is that they hire the bottom of the barrel in the massage field

Here's another Massage Envy report from October, which says

XXXX was a massage therapist at Massage Envy on the Country Club Plaza. On Sept. 23, a 30-year-old woman went to the business and received a massage from XXXX. The woman told police that XXXX touched her inappropriately and that she told him to stop. XXXX told the woman not to tell anyone about it, according to the probable cause statement.

Massage Envy is suffering the conseqences, because some reports of child molestation and "inappropriate touching" by a masseuse who had nothing to do with Massage Envy, ends with a reference to sexual assault problems at Massage Envy:

In an unrelated case, prosecutors say a masseur at Massage Envy in Foster City tried to perform oral sex on a client in December.

It's bad when your business name is associated with sexual abuse and child molestation. This follow up story says more women came forward after the news broke.

It all proves the same thing - go after the people who commit the crimes, not the businesses.
